  • Check-in: 3pm-7pm
    • Late check-in may be charged $10 unless scheduled within 24 hours of arrival.
  • Checkout: 11am
  • Late checkout: 12pm
  • Late checkout fee: $25
  • The hostel will hold guests’ baggage for up to 24 hours. Only baggage recognized by major U.S. airlines will be accepted. Garbage bags or other forms of packaging not accepted by major U.S. airlines will not be accepted.

Property and cancellation policies

  • Deposit
    • A deposit equal to the total of the first night’s stay will be taken upon reservation.
    • For reservations and policies for groups of 6 or more, please contact us.
  • Cancellation Policy
    • No-shows/cancellations within 24 hours of scheduled check-in will forfeit their deposit.
    • No-shows with multiple-night bookings will forfeit the entirety of the reservation if we have not heard from them by 11am the day following their scheduled arrival. In addition, per our 24-hour cancellation policy, they will be charged for the second night.
    • For all reservations over $1,000, cancellations must be given 72 hours notice or we will charge you the remainder of each night within that 72-hour cancellation window.
    • Cancellations due to cancelled flights, changed travel plans or weather delays cannot be honored.

Terms and Conditions

Please read our policies in their entirety. By proceeding with this reservation, you accept and agree that the reservation (details above), if accepted by us, Cream City Hostel (CCH), shall follow and be held to the terms and conditions as follows:

  • Prices and Taxes
    • Rates quoted are based on your chosen length of stay. Rates are subject to change without notice as a result of supply and demand. Guests agree to pay all taxes and fees associated with their accommodation. Rates are quoted in U.S. dollars (USD).
  • Payment and Terms at Check-In and Checkout
    • Payment will be charged in full upon check-in with the card used to make the reservation. Split payments with other cards is permitted. Card will be kept on file until after check-out.
    • You must be 18 years of age or older to check-in and register for a room.
    • Check-in: 3pm-7pm

    • Late checkout hour: 12pm
    • Late checkout fee: $25
    • A valid, government-issued photo ID or passport is required for all guests at check-in. Copies of identification are not accepted.
    • Proof of continued travel, including but not limited to a bus ticket, train ticket, plane ticket, or future hostel/hotel reservation, may be requested upon arrival.
    • Milwaukee metro area residents must reserve room 48 hours in advance and may be asked to show proof of activity including but not limited to concert tickets, sporting event tickets, or other event tickets.

  • First level list item
    • All guests under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Minors are only permitted to stay in a private room or with a group reservation of a full dorm.
  • Accessibility and Special Needs
    • We have ramp access in the rear of building and an elevator to all three floors. ADA-accessible bathrooms are available on both dorm floors.
  • Parking
    • Street parking is available through the City of Milwaukee for up to 3 nights. For longer stays, contact us for details.
  • Hostel Events
  • Guest policies
    • The Cream City Hostel Staff have the right to eject or refuse service to anyone who violates our policies or presents a danger to themselves, other guests and/or the facility. Failure to comply with these rules will result in dismissal from the hostel property without refund.
    • To borrow a slogan from the Riverwest24 (our favorite 24 hours of the year), “don’t be a jerk!”
    • Please, no extended socializing in dorm rooms. Use our common spaces or backyard.
    • Milwaukee knows its way around a beer, and alcohol is allowed for guests 21 and over. However, you are expected to act with integrity and respect (see the first point, above).
    • The party must not go into the dorms, as these are places for rest.
    • With the exception of service animals, pets are not permitted. We request that guests traveling with service animals stay in a private room.
    • We do not allow outside linens or sleeping bags. Extra linens and blankets are available free of charge upon request.
  • Dispute Resolution/Problems
    • In the unlikely event that guests are dissatisfied with their experience, they agree to contact hostel management to resolve any issues.
